NPC takes care of the people who take care of the company...
And those same people are the ones who take care of our customers. The foundation of our success rests on trust and openness, and building strong relationships with all of our stakeholders -- employees, customers, vendors and our community. NPC's culture and vision have paved the way for our mission statement, which is as unique as it is simple.
To provide the means for self-reliant individuals to improve both their quality of life and standard of living.
Bringing a 'dining room table' atmosphere to the workplace
NPC owner and CEO Mark Barnhart grew up listening and learning about business and life values at the dining room table. His parents, founders Barney and Charlotte Barnhart, left an indelible impression on him. Mark could not imagine a more perfect way to represent our culture, so he integrated the dining room table atmosphere into our core values at NPC.
The dining room table atmosphere fosters relationships and trust while embodying all the reasons we gather together. When we share a table we see each other not just as co-workers, but as an extended NPC family with common values. It is about learning, working, laughing, friendship, sustainability, community and sharing a meal. It is the fabric that holds our culture together.
Our culture is actually pretty simple... we’re the living and learning philosophy company. The culture and living portion came from my mother; the education and knowledge came from my dad — living and learning. This philosophy really came from my ability to want to share the same opportunities and privileges I had.
I don’t care whether it’s the Farm [Barneywood], the profits, my time… All I’ve tried to do is replicate what my parents did for me, except I also wanted to try and do it for anybody else that was interested in any part or degree.
